Eul-Hae day pillar personality
- gentle
- studious
- spiritual
Eul-Hae is a plant floating on a wide winter river. Water nourishes Wood generously, so tradition reads kindness, curiosity and natural support from mentors and family. The Pig branch also holds Gap Wood, giving a quiet ambition beneath the softness. Because the roots float rather than anchor, Eul-Hae people sometimes drift; a firm plan and a home base steady them.
The Eul day master
Eul (乙) is the grass and the vine: flexible, sociable and quietly tenacious. It bends with the wind instead of breaking and finds a way around obstacles rather than through them.
Sitting on Hae (亥)
Hae (亥) is early-winter water holding the seed of wood. As a day branch it adds generosity, imagination and an easygoing, open heart. Its main hidden stem, 壬, is Direct Resource to a Eul day master (learning, support, documents), so the inner self leans toward learning.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Eul-Hae pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yin pillar: receptive, inward and subtle in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 乙.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 戊 Mu | Yang Earth | residual qi | 7 | Direct Wealth | steady income, management, thrift |
| 甲 Gap | Yang Wood | middle qi | 7 | Rob Wealth | rival, drive, competition |
| 壬 Im | Yang Water | main qi | 16 | Direct Resource | learning, support, documents |
Life stage: Death (사)
Death (Sa) is complete stillness: focus, depth and seriousness. Despite the name it is not ominous; it suggests a researcher’s mind that goes deep into one subject. For Eul, that stage falls exactly on Hae, so the pillar’s own branch shows deep focus.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Eul-Hae pillar is led by Wood (62%), followed by Water (27%), Earth (12%). Fire and Metal are absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Fire → warm light, exercise that makes you sweat, social plans; Earth → regular meals, routines, tidy spaces, gardening; Metal → decluttering, deep breathing, clear decisions.
Eul-Hae in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Direct Resource in the spouse palace, care and emotional support flow easily. Tradition reads a nurturing, comforting partnership, with a gentle warning against over-dependence.
As a Eul day master, Eul-Hae is attentive and affectionate, reads a partner's mood well and values everyday tenderness. Starting (“post-horse”) branch: In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Gyeong-In (庚寅) — stems combine (乙 + 庚 → Metal) and branches form a six-harmony (亥 + 寅).
- Friendly branches: In (Tiger) (six-harmony) and Myo (卯) and Mi (未) (three-harmony Wood frame).
- Most tension: Sin-Sa (辛巳) — the branches clash (亥 vs 巳) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Eul-Hae day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Eul-Hae woman
No Officer star sits inside the Eul-Hae spouse palace, so for a woman’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Direct Resource, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Eul-Hae man
Direct Wealth (戊) sits in the spouse palace as the residual qi, which classical texts read, for a man’s chart, as a close and quiet but present bond: the partner star is “at home”. Being a hidden minor star, its influence is subtler and often grows with age.
Eul-Hae career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Eul stem: design and visual arts, counselling and HR, marketing and networking, hospitality and service.
- From Direct Resource in the day branch: education, academia, publishing, certification-based professions.
- From the Death stage: research, analysis and deep specialist work.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (gentle, studious, spiritual) tends to feel most natural for Eul-Hae.

Eul-Hae day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Eul-Hae |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Eating God |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Indirect Wealth |
| Eul at Mi | Nurture stage |
| Day branch 亥 vs 未 | Wood triad (half) |
For Eul day masters Jeong (丁) is Eating God and Mi holds Indirect Wealth plus Eul’s own root. Tradition reads a comfortable, productive year: talent turns into results and opportunities, and the Goat branch is the storehouse of Wood, so support is easier to find.
Hae joins Mi in the Hae-Myo-Mi Wood triad (half-combination). Tradition reads support from networks and a good year for collaboration.
Eul-Hae days in 2027: Feb 25, Apr 26, Jun 25, Aug 24, Oct 23, Dec 22. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Starting (“post-horse”) branch — In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
- Nayin: Mountaintop Fire (山頭火), the “sound element” shared with Gap-Sul (甲戌).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): Sin and Yu (申酉), because Eul-Hae belongs to the decade that starts with 甲戌.
- Same pillar as the years 1935, 1995, 2055 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Eul-Hae returns every 60 days.
