Gyeong-In day pillar personality
- active
- bold
- entrepreneurial
Gyeong-In is metal facing living wood, the woodcutter’s pillar. Wood is Wealth for Gyeong, so tradition reads enterprise, activity and an eye for opportunity. Gyeong sits in Severance, which adds decisiveness and fresh starts. The Tiger also hides Byeong Fire, Gyeong’s Seven Killings, so challenges follow ambition. Gyeong-In thrives on bold projects managed with a cool head.
The Gyeong day master
Gyeong (庚) is raw metal: decisive, loyal and just. It cuts cleanly between right and wrong and moves quickly once a decision is made.
Sitting on In (寅)
In (寅) is the first spring branch, a tiger in a waking forest. As a day branch it adds courage, initiative and a taste for new ground. Its main hidden stem, 甲, is Indirect Wealth to a Gyeong day master (big money, activity, opportunity), so the inner self leans toward big money.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Gyeong-In pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yang pillar: outgoing, initiating and direct in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 庚.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 戊 Mu | Yang Earth | residual qi | 7 | Indirect Resource | intuition, unusual learning, solitude |
| 丙 Byeong | Yang Fire | middle qi | 7 | Seven Killings | pressure, courage, authority |
| 甲 Gap | Yang Wood | main qi | 16 | Indirect Wealth | big money, activity, opportunity |
Life stage: Severance (절)
Severance (Jeol) is the cut between one life and the next: decisive, fresh, sometimes changeable. It suggests clean breaks, quick fresh starts and openness to unusual paths. For Gyeong, that stage falls exactly on In, so the pillar’s own branch shows clean breaks.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Gyeong-In pillar is led by Metal (50%), followed by Wood (27%), Fire (12%), Earth (12%). Water is absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Fire → warm light, exercise that makes you sweat, social plans; Earth → regular meals, routines, tidy spaces, gardening; Water → sleep, water, journaling, quiet reading.
Gyeong-In in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Indirect Wealth in the spouse palace, the partner is often lively, sociable or business-minded, and dates tend to be active. Generosity runs high, so shared budgeting helps.
As a Gyeong day master, Gyeong-In is straightforward and loyal, protects a partner fiercely but may express care bluntly. Starting (“post-horse”) branch: In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Eul-Hae (乙亥) — stems combine (庚 + 乙 → Metal) and branches form a six-harmony (寅 + 亥).
- Friendly branches: Hae (Pig) (six-harmony) and O (午) and Sul (戌) (three-harmony Fire frame).
- Most tension: Gap-Sin (甲申) — the branches clash (寅 vs 申) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Gyeong-In day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Gyeong-In woman
Seven Killings (丙) sits in the spouse palace as the middle qi, which classical texts read, for a woman’s chart, as a close and quiet but present bond: the partner star is “at home”. Being a hidden minor star, its influence is subtler and often grows with age.
Gyeong-In man
Indirect Wealth (甲) sits in the spouse palace as the main qi, which classical texts read, for a man’s chart, as a close and strong, visible bond: the partner star is “at home”. Being the main star, it tends to show clearly in daily life.
Gyeong-In career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Gyeong stem: military, police and law, engineering and manufacturing, surgery and technical trades, sports and operations.
- From Indirect Wealth in the day branch: business, trading, investment and work that moves around.
- From the Severance stage: new ventures, career switches and unusual niches.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (active, bold, entrepreneurial) tends to feel most natural for Gyeong-In.

Gyeong-In day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Gyeong-In |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Direct Officer |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Direct Resource |
| Gyeong at Mi | Coming of Age stage |
| Day branch 寅 vs 未 | No major relation |
For Gyeong day masters Jeong (丁) is Direct Officer and Mi’s main qi is Direct Resource. Tradition reads one of the cleaner patterns for recognition: promotion, appointment, passing exams or formal milestones, provided you work within the rules.
In and Mi have no major combination or clash. Some schools list In-Mi as a “ghost gate” pair linked with nerves, so good sleep and routine are the traditional advice.
Gyeong-In days in 2027: Jan 11, Mar 12, May 11, Jul 10, Sep 8, Nov 7. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Starting (“post-horse”) branch — In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
- Nayin: Pine & Cypress Wood (松柏木), the “sound element” shared with Sin-Myo (辛卯).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): O and Mi (午未), because Gyeong-In belongs to the decade that starts with 甲申.
- Same pillar as the years 1950, 2010, 2070 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Gyeong-In returns every 60 days.
