Byeong-In day pillar personality
- sunrise energy
- adventurous
- generous
Byeong-In is the morning sun over the Tiger’s forest. Wood in the branch feeds Fire, and Byeong sits in its Birth stage, so tradition reads abundant energy, optimism and an appetite for new ground. Gap-Ja-style hesitation is absent here: Byeong-In acts first and explains later. The lesson is pacing; brilliant starts need a plan for the afternoon.
The Byeong day master
Byeong (丙) is the sun: warm, open, expressive and generous. It wants to shine on everyone, speaks frankly and lifts the mood of any room.
Sitting on In (寅)
In (寅) is the first spring branch, a tiger in a waking forest. As a day branch it adds courage, initiative and a taste for new ground. Its main hidden stem, 甲, is Indirect Resource to a Byeong day master (intuition, unusual learning, solitude), so the inner self leans toward intuition.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Byeong-In pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yang pillar: outgoing, initiating and direct in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 丙.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 戊 Mu | Yang Earth | residual qi | 7 | Eating God | talent, enjoyment, steady output |
| 丙 Byeong | Yang Fire | middle qi | 7 | Friend | peer, self, independence |
| 甲 Gap | Yang Wood | main qi | 16 | Indirect Resource | intuition, unusual learning, solitude |
Life stage: Birth (장생)
Birth (Jangsaeng) is the stage of a new life: the day master is fresh, welcomed and supported. Traditionally it suggests a likeable, optimistic temperament, good relations with elders and a talent for learning. For Byeong, that stage falls exactly on In, so the pillar’s own branch shows fresh growth.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Byeong-In pillar is led by Fire (62%), followed by Wood (27%), Earth (12%). Metal and Water are absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Earth → regular meals, routines, tidy spaces, gardening; Metal → decluttering, deep breathing, clear decisions; Water → sleep, water, journaling, quiet reading.
Byeong-In in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Indirect Resource in the spouse palace, personal space and time alone matter. The bond is intellectual and intuitive; problems arise only if one person withdraws without explanation.
As a Byeong day master, Byeong-In is warm and demonstrative, falls fast and shows it, wants a partner who enjoys being seen together. Starting (“post-horse”) branch: In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Sin-Hae (辛亥) — stems combine (丙 + 辛 → Water) and branches form a six-harmony (寅 + 亥).
- Friendly branches: Hae (Pig) (six-harmony) and O (午) and Sul (戌) (three-harmony Fire frame).
- Most tension: Im-Sin (壬申) — the branches clash (寅 vs 申) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Byeong-In day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Byeong-In woman
No Officer star sits inside the Byeong-In spouse palace, so for a woman’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Indirect Resource, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Byeong-In man
No Wealth star sits inside the Byeong-In spouse palace, so for a man’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Indirect Resource, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Byeong-In career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Byeong stem: broadcasting and media, sales and promotion, teaching and public speaking, entertainment and events.
- From Indirect Resource in the day branch: specialist knowledge: research, IT, medicine, alternative or niche fields.
- From the Birth stage: learning-rich roles with mentors and growth paths.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (sunrise energy, adventurous, generous) tends to feel most natural for Byeong-In.

Byeong-In day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Byeong-In |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Rob Wealth |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Hurting Officer |
| Byeong at Mi | Decline stage |
| Day branch 寅 vs 未 | No major relation |
For Byeong day masters Jeong (丁) is Rob Wealth and Mi’s main qi is Hurting Officer. Tradition reads a year with competition and collaboration side by side: energy is high, but shared money, guarantees and impulsive spending deserve caution.
In and Mi have no major combination or clash. Some schools list In-Mi as a “ghost gate” pair linked with nerves, so good sleep and routine are the traditional advice.
Byeong-In days in 2027: Feb 16, Apr 17, Jun 16, Aug 15, Oct 14, Dec 13. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Starting (“post-horse”) branch — In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
- Nayin: Fire in the Furnace (爐中火), the “sound element” shared with Jeong-Myo (丁卯).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): Sul and Hae (戌亥), because Byeong-In belongs to the decade that starts with 甲子.
- Same pillar as the years 1926, 1986, 2046 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Byeong-In returns every 60 days.
