Jeong-Myo day pillar personality
- artistic
- intuitive
- gentle
Jeong-Myo is candlelight among spring blossoms: soft, beautiful and inward-looking. The Rabbit branch is pure Wood that feeds the flame, which tradition reads as intuition, taste and a strong inner life. Jeong-Myo people often learn by feeling rather than by rules. Because the light is delicate, they can be moody or easily hurt, and they flourish with steady, kind company.
The Jeong day master
Jeong (丁) is the candle and the starlight: focused, warm and perceptive. Its light is small but steady, so Jeong people tend to give deep attention to a few people and a few crafts.
Sitting on Myo (卯)
Myo (卯) is pure spring wood, grass and blossoms. As a day branch it adds charm, sensitivity and a gentle but persistent will. Its main hidden stem, 乙, is Indirect Resource to a Jeong day master (intuition, unusual learning, solitude), so the inner self leans toward intuition.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Jeong-Myo pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yin pillar: receptive, inward and subtle in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 丁.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 甲 Gap | Yang Wood | residual qi | 10 | Direct Resource | learning, support, documents |
| 乙 Eul | Yin Wood | main qi | 20 | Indirect Resource | intuition, unusual learning, solitude |
Life stage: Illness (병)
Illness (Byeong) is the stage of slowing down: gentle, sympathetic and imaginative. It suggests compassion, artistic or caring talents and a need to manage energy wisely. For Jeong, that stage falls exactly on Myo, so the pillar’s own branch shows sensitivity.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Jeong-Myo pillar is led by Wood (50%), followed by Fire (50%). Earth, Metal and Water are absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Earth → regular meals, routines, tidy spaces, gardening; Metal → decluttering, deep breathing, clear decisions; Water → sleep, water, journaling, quiet reading.
Jeong-Myo in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Indirect Resource in the spouse palace, personal space and time alone matter. The bond is intellectual and intuitive; problems arise only if one person withdraws without explanation.
As a Jeong day master, Jeong-Myo is devoted and romantic, remembers small details and expects the same sincerity in return. Cardinal (“peach-blossom”) branch: Ja, O, Myo and Yu are the four cardinal branches. Tradition links them with Dohwa (桃花, peach blossom): charm, visibility and popularity.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Im-Sul (壬戌) — stems combine (丁 + 壬 → Wood) and branches form a six-harmony (卯 + 戌).
- Friendly branches: Sul (Dog) (six-harmony) and Hae (亥) and Mi (未) (three-harmony Wood frame).
- Most tension: Gye-Yu (癸酉) — the branches clash (卯 vs 酉) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Jeong-Myo day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Jeong-Myo woman
No Officer star sits inside the Jeong-Myo spouse palace, so for a woman’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Indirect Resource, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Jeong-Myo man
No Wealth star sits inside the Jeong-Myo spouse palace, so for a man’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Indirect Resource, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Jeong-Myo career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Jeong stem: research and analysis, medicine and care, teaching and mentoring, arts, writing and craft.
- From Indirect Resource in the day branch: specialist knowledge: research, IT, medicine, alternative or niche fields.
- From the Illness stage: care, healing, arts and imaginative work.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (artistic, intuitive, gentle) tends to feel most natural for Jeong-Myo.

Jeong-Myo day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Jeong-Myo |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Friend |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Eating God |
| Jeong at Mi | Coming of Age stage |
| Day branch 卯 vs 未 | Wood triad (half) |
For Jeong day masters 2027 is a Friend year: the yearly stem is your own character, and Mi is a Coming-of-Age stage for Jeong. Tradition reads confidence, independence and new circles of peers; keep an eye on splitting resources too thin.
Myo joins Mi in the Hae-Myo-Mi Wood triad (half-combination). Tradition reads cooperation, new allies and smooth teamwork in 2027.
Jeong-Myo days in 2027: Feb 17, Apr 18, Jun 17, Aug 16, Oct 15, Dec 14. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Cardinal (“peach-blossom”) branch — Ja, O, Myo and Yu are the four cardinal branches. Tradition links them with Dohwa (桃花, peach blossom): charm, visibility and popularity.
- Nayin: Fire in the Furnace (爐中火), the “sound element” shared with Byeong-In (丙寅).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): Sul and Hae (戌亥), because Jeong-Myo belongs to the decade that starts with 甲子.
- Same pillar as the years 1927, 1987, 2047 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Jeong-Myo returns every 60 days.
