Eul-Myo day pillar personality
- tenacious
- social
- creative
Eul-Myo doubles yin Wood: a meadow that spreads wherever it can. Stem and branch share an element and Eul is at Prosperity, so tradition reads tenacity, sociability and creative instincts. Eul-Myo people adapt and keep growing in any conditions. Because so much Wood competes for the same soil, rivalries and stubbornness are the traditional cautions.
The Eul day master
Eul (乙) is the grass and the vine: flexible, sociable and quietly tenacious. It bends with the wind instead of breaking and finds a way around obstacles rather than through them.
Sitting on Myo (卯)
Myo (卯) is pure spring wood, grass and blossoms. As a day branch it adds charm, sensitivity and a gentle but persistent will. Its main hidden stem, 乙, is Friend to a Eul day master (peer, self, independence), so the inner self leans toward peer.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Eul-Myo pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yin pillar: receptive, inward and subtle in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 乙.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 甲 Gap | Yang Wood | residual qi | 10 | Rob Wealth | rival, drive, competition |
| 乙 Eul | Yin Wood | main qi | 20 | Friend | peer, self, independence |
Life stage: Prosperity (건록)
Prosperity (Geollok) is the mature adult earning a salary: self-reliant and capable. It suggests independence, steady competence and a dislike of depending on anyone. For Eul, that stage falls exactly on Myo, so the pillar’s own branch shows self-reliance.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Eul-Myo pillar is led by Wood (100%). Fire, Earth, Metal and Water are absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Fire → warm light, exercise that makes you sweat, social plans; Earth → regular meals, routines, tidy spaces, gardening; Metal → decluttering, deep breathing, clear decisions; Water → sleep, water, journaling, quiet reading.
Eul-Myo in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Friend in the spouse palace, partners are treated as equals and best friends. Independence is strong; a relationship works best with clear roles and shared goals rather than one person leading.
As a Eul day master, Eul-Myo is attentive and affectionate, reads a partner's mood well and values everyday tenderness. Cardinal (“peach-blossom”) branch: Ja, O, Myo and Yu are the four cardinal branches. Tradition links them with Dohwa (桃花, peach blossom): charm, visibility and popularity.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Gyeong-Sul (庚戌) — stems combine (乙 + 庚 → Metal) and branches form a six-harmony (卯 + 戌).
- Friendly branches: Sul (Dog) (six-harmony) and Hae (亥) and Mi (未) (three-harmony Wood frame).
- Most tension: Sin-Yu (辛酉) — the branches clash (卯 vs 酉) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Eul-Myo day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Eul-Myo woman
No Officer star sits inside the Eul-Myo spouse palace, so for a woman’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Friend, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Eul-Myo man
No Wealth star sits inside the Eul-Myo spouse palace, so for a man’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Friend, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Eul-Myo career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Eul stem: design and visual arts, counselling and HR, marketing and networking, hospitality and service.
- From Friend in the day branch: self-employment, freelancing or any role with personal autonomy.
- From the Prosperity stage: self-directed professional work with steady pay.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (tenacious, social, creative) tends to feel most natural for Eul-Myo.

Eul-Myo day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Eul-Myo |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Eating God |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Indirect Wealth |
| Eul at Mi | Nurture stage |
| Day branch 卯 vs 未 | Wood triad (half) |
For Eul day masters Jeong (丁) is Eating God and Mi holds Indirect Wealth plus Eul’s own root. Tradition reads a comfortable, productive year: talent turns into results and opportunities, and the Goat branch is the storehouse of Wood, so support is easier to find.
Myo joins Mi in the Hae-Myo-Mi Wood triad (half-combination). Tradition reads cooperation, new allies and smooth teamwork in 2027.
Eul-Myo days in 2027: Feb 5, Apr 6, Jun 5, Aug 4, Oct 3, Dec 2. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Stem-branch harmony (干如支同) — stem and branch share one element, so the self is strongly rooted: independence and persistence, sometimes stubbornness.
- Cardinal (“peach-blossom”) branch — Ja, O, Myo and Yu are the four cardinal branches. Tradition links them with Dohwa (桃花, peach blossom): charm, visibility and popularity.
- Nayin: Great Stream Water (大溪水), the “sound element” shared with Gap-In (甲寅).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): Ja and Chuk (子丑), because Eul-Myo belongs to the decade that starts with 甲寅.
- Same pillar as the years 1915, 1975, 2035, 2095 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Eul-Myo returns every 60 days.
