Gyeong-O day pillar personality
- principled
- disciplined
- well-liked
Gyeong-O is raw metal in the Horse’s fire: heat that refines and disciplines. Fire is the Officer element for Gyeong, so tradition reads a person shaped by rules, duty and reputation, often respected in organisations. The forge also means pressure; Gyeong-O people can feel constantly tested and need outlets that cool them down.
The Gyeong day master
Gyeong (庚) is raw metal: decisive, loyal and just. It cuts cleanly between right and wrong and moves quickly once a decision is made.
Sitting on O (午)
O (午) is midday fire, the horse at full gallop. As a day branch it adds passion, sociability and a need for freedom and movement. Its main hidden stem, 丁, is Direct Officer to a Gyeong day master (order, duty, reputation), so the inner self leans toward order.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Gyeong-O pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yang pillar: outgoing, initiating and direct in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 庚.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 丙 Byeong | Yang Fire | residual qi | 10 | Seven Killings | pressure, courage, authority |
| 己 Gi | Yin Earth | middle qi | 9 | Direct Resource | learning, support, documents |
| 丁 Jeong | Yin Fire | main qi | 11 | Direct Officer | order, duty, reputation |
Life stage: Bath (목욕)
Bath (Mogyok) is the infant being washed: exposed, curious and changeable. Tradition reads it as sensitivity, a strong sense of style and a restless search for new experiences, especially in romance. For Gyeong, that stage falls exactly on O, so the pillar’s own branch shows change and charm.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Gyeong-O pillar is led by Metal (50%), followed by Fire (35%), Earth (15%). Wood and Water are absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Wood → green, mornings, walks among trees, starting a course; Water → sleep, water, journaling, quiet reading.
Gyeong-O in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Direct Officer in the spouse palace, the relationship is proper, responsible and stable. Tradition regards it as a sign of a reliable partner and a respectable household.
As a Gyeong day master, Gyeong-O is straightforward and loyal, protects a partner fiercely but may express care bluntly. Cardinal (“peach-blossom”) branch: Ja, O, Myo and Yu are the four cardinal branches. Tradition links them with Dohwa (桃花, peach blossom): charm, visibility and popularity.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Eul-Mi (乙未) — stems combine (庚 + 乙 → Metal) and branches form a six-harmony (午 + 未).
- Friendly branches: Mi (Goat) (six-harmony) and In (寅) and Sul (戌) (three-harmony Fire frame).
- Most tension: Gap-Ja (甲子) — the branches clash (午 vs 子) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Gyeong-O day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Gyeong-O woman
Direct Officer (丁) sits in the spouse palace as the main qi, which classical texts read, for a woman’s chart, as a close and strong, visible bond: the partner star is “at home”. Being the main star, it tends to show clearly in daily life.
Gyeong-O man
No Wealth star sits inside the Gyeong-O spouse palace, so for a man’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Direct Officer, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Gyeong-O career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Gyeong stem: military, police and law, engineering and manufacturing, surgery and technical trades, sports and operations.
- From Direct Officer in the day branch: public service, large organisations and roles with clear hierarchy.
- From the Bath stage: fields that reward style, trends and change.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (principled, disciplined, well-liked) tends to feel most natural for Gyeong-O.

Gyeong-O day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Gyeong-O |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Direct Officer |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Direct Resource |
| Gyeong at Mi | Coming of Age stage |
| Day branch 午 vs 未 | Six harmony (午未合) |
For Gyeong day masters Jeong (丁) is Direct Officer and Mi’s main qi is Direct Resource. Tradition reads one of the cleaner patterns for recognition: promotion, appointment, passing exams or formal milestones, provided you work within the rules.
O and Mi form the Six Harmony (午未合), traditionally the closest partner bond of the Goat. It is read as a warm year for relationships and partnerships.
Gyeong-O days in 2027: Feb 20, Apr 21, Jun 20, Aug 19, Oct 18, Dec 17. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Cardinal (“peach-blossom”) branch — Ja, O, Myo and Yu are the four cardinal branches. Tradition links them with Dohwa (桃花, peach blossom): charm, visibility and popularity.
- Nayin: Roadside Earth (路傍土), the “sound element” shared with Sin-Mi (辛未).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): Sul and Hae (戌亥), because Gyeong-O belongs to the decade that starts with 甲子.
- Same pillar as the years 1930, 1990, 2050 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Gyeong-O returns every 60 days.
