Sin-Sa day pillar personality
- polished
- principled
- composed
Sin-Sa is a jewel placed in the furnace. Fire is the Officer element for Sin, so tradition reads discipline, propriety and ambition to be recognised. The Snake also hides Gyeong Metal and Mu Earth, giving inner strength and support. Sin-Sa people are composed and elegant in public, yet inner pressure can be high; time in calm, cool surroundings restores them.
The Sin day master
Sin (辛) is the polished jewel: refined, precise and self-respecting. It values quality, aesthetics and clean standards, and notices flaws others miss.
Sitting on Sa (巳)
Sa (巳) is early-summer fire with metal hidden inside. As a day branch it adds quick thinking, strategy and a warm but watchful presence. Its main hidden stem, 丙, is Direct Officer to a Sin day master (order, duty, reputation), so the inner self leans toward order.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Sin-Sa pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yin pillar: receptive, inward and subtle in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 辛.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 戊 Mu | Yang Earth | residual qi | 7 | Direct Resource | learning, support, documents |
| Gyeong | Yang Metal | middle qi | 7 | Rob Wealth | rival, drive, competition |
| 丙 Byeong | Yang Fire | main qi | 16 | Direct Officer | order, duty, reputation |
Life stage: Death (사)
Death (Sa) is complete stillness: focus, depth and seriousness. Despite the name it is not ominous; it suggests a researcher’s mind that goes deep into one subject. For Sin, that stage falls exactly on Sa, so the pillar’s own branch shows deep focus.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Sin-Sa pillar is led by Metal (62%), followed by Fire (27%), Earth (12%). Wood and Water are absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Wood → green, mornings, walks among trees, starting a course; Earth → regular meals, routines, tidy spaces, gardening; Water → sleep, water, journaling, quiet reading.
Sin-Sa in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Direct Officer in the spouse palace, the relationship is proper, responsible and stable. Tradition regards it as a sign of a reliable partner and a respectable household.
As a Sin day master, Sin-Sa is selective and elegant, wants to be cherished and treats a partner with care and taste. Starting (“post-horse”) branch: In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Byeong-Sin (丙申) — stems combine (辛 + 丙 → Water) and branches form a six-harmony (巳 + 申).
- Friendly branches: Sin (Monkey) (six-harmony) and Yu (酉) and Chuk (丑) (three-harmony Metal frame).
- Most tension: Eul-Hae (乙亥) — the branches clash (巳 vs 亥) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Sin-Sa day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Sin-Sa woman
Direct Officer (丙) sits in the spouse palace as the main qi, which classical texts read, for a woman’s chart, as a close and strong, visible bond: the partner star is “at home”. Being the main star, it tends to show clearly in daily life.
Sin-Sa man
No Wealth star sits inside the Sin-Sa spouse palace, so for a man’s chart classical texts read partner timing from the other pillars and the ten-year luck cycles. The palace’s main star, Direct Officer, sets the tone of the relationship instead.
Sin-Sa career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Sin stem: finance and audit, fashion, beauty and design, professional licences (law, medicine, pharmacy), precision technology.
- From Direct Officer in the day branch: public service, large organisations and roles with clear hierarchy.
- From the Death stage: research, analysis and deep specialist work.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (polished, principled, composed) tends to feel most natural for Sin-Sa.

Sin-Sa day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Sin-Sa |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Seven Killings |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Indirect Resource |
| Sin at Mi | Decline stage |
| Day branch 巳 vs 未 | Fire directional group |
For Sin day masters Jeong (丁) is Seven Killings and Mi’s main qi is Indirect Resource. Tradition reads a year of pressure and responsibility that can be converted into authority through study and planning; protect rest and health.
Sa joins Mi in the Sa-O-Mi southern Fire directional group. Tradition reads momentum and like-minded company, with the reminder that extra Fire can mean extra heat in temper.
Sin-Sa days in 2027: Jan 2, Mar 3, May 2, Jul 1, Aug 30, Oct 29, Dec 28. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Starting (“post-horse”) branch — In, Sin, Sa and Hae begin each season. Tradition links them with Yeokma (驛馬, travelling horse): movement, change of place and busy schedules.
- Nayin: White Wax Metal (白蠟金), the “sound element” shared with Gyeong-Jin (庚辰).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): Sin and Yu (申酉), because Sin-Sa belongs to the decade that starts with 甲戌.
- Same pillar as the years 1941, 2001, 2061 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Sin-Sa returns every 60 days.
