Gye-Mi day pillar personality
- devoted
- persistent
- self-sacrificing
Gye-Mi is rain on parched earth: badly needed and quickly absorbed. Earth controls Water, so the branch is Seven Killings and Gye sits in its Tomb stage. Tradition reads a hardworking, devoted person who gives a lot and endures a lot. Gye-Mi people are valued for their dedication, but should guard against overwork and resentment from unspoken sacrifice.
The Gye day master
Gye (癸) is the rain: intuitive, gentle and quietly clever. It seeps into every crack, reading moods and situations before others notice them.
Sitting on Mi (未)
Mi (未) is hot, dry summer earth that stores wood. As a day branch it adds gentleness on the outside, stubborn endurance inside and strong family feeling. Its main hidden stem, 己, is Seven Killings to a Gye day master (pressure, courage, authority), so the inner self leans toward pressure.
Like every one of the 60 pillars, Gye-Mi pairs a stem and a branch of the same polarity, so it is a purely yin pillar: receptive, inward and subtle in expression.
Hidden stems and the 12 life stages
Every earthly branch carries one to three hidden stems (지장간, jijanggan). Their share follows the traditional day-count table (월률분야) used by the site’s Saju calculator. Each hidden stem becomes a ten god when compared with the day master 癸.
| Hidden stem | Element | Role | Days | Ten god | Theme |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 丁 Jeong | Yin Fire | residual qi | 9 | Indirect Wealth | big money, activity, opportunity |
| 乙 Eul | Yin Wood | middle qi | 3 | Eating God | talent, enjoyment, steady output |
| 己 Gi | Yin Earth | main qi | 18 | Seven Killings | pressure, courage, authority |
Life stage: Tomb (묘)
Tomb (Myo) is the storehouse where things are kept: thrift, patience and hidden reserves. It suggests someone who saves, plans and reveals their strength slowly. For Gye, that stage falls exactly on Mi, so the pillar’s own branch shows storage and thrift.
Five-element balance
On its own, the Gye-Mi pillar is led by Water (50%), followed by Earth (30%), Fire (15%), Wood (5%). Metal is absent from the pillar itself.
One pillar is only two of the eight characters in a full chart; the year, month and hour pillars often fill the gaps. Tradition treats under-represented elements as balancing themes, for example Wood → green, mornings, walks among trees, starting a course; Metal → decluttering, deep breathing, clear decisions.
Gye-Mi in love and compatibility
The day branch is called the spouse palace. With Seven Killings in the spouse palace, attraction to strong, intense personalities is common and the relationship carries some tension. Respecting each other’s space keeps the spark without the strain.
As a Gye day master, Gye-Mi is tender and perceptive, cares in subtle ways and needs emotional safety. Storage (“flower-canopy”) branch: Jin, Sul, Chuk and Mi close each season and store its energy. Tradition links them with Hwagae (華蓋): reflection, study, art and spiritual interests.
Compatible and challenging day pillars
- Best traditional match: Mu-O (戊午) — stems combine (癸 + 戊 → Fire) and branches form a six-harmony (未 + 午).
- Friendly branches: O (Horse) (six-harmony) and Hae (亥) and Myo (卯) (three-harmony Wood frame).
- Most tension: Jeong-Chuk (丁丑) — the branches clash (未 vs 丑) and the stems clash.
Compatibility in Saju compares whole charts; the day pillar is only one piece. Treat this as a conversation starter, not a verdict on any relationship.
Gye-Mi day pillar for women and men
Personality traits above apply to everyone. Gender enters only through an old convention: classical texts treat Wealth as the spouse star in a man’s chart and Officer in a woman’s chart. Modern readers apply the spouse palace to any partner.
Gye-Mi woman
Seven Killings (己) sits in the spouse palace as the main qi, which classical texts read, for a woman’s chart, as a close and strong, visible bond: the partner star is “at home”. Being the main star, it tends to show clearly in daily life.
Gye-Mi man
Indirect Wealth (丁) sits in the spouse palace as the residual qi, which classical texts read, for a man’s chart, as a close and quiet but present bond: the partner star is “at home”. Being a hidden minor star, its influence is subtler and often grows with age.
Gye-Mi career and work style
Career themes in Saju come from the day master and from the star in the spouse palace, which also shows how a person behaves in private and in partnerships.
- From the Gye stem: research and data, counselling and psychology, IT and writing, planning behind the scenes.
- From Seven Killings in the day branch: high-pressure roles: police, military, medicine, crisis management.
- From the Tomb stage: finance, archives, property and long-term building.
Work that draws on the pillar’s keywords (devoted, persistent, self-sacrificing) tends to feel most natural for Gye-Mi.

Gye-Mi day pillar in 2027 (Jeongmi year)
2027 is the Jeongmi (丁未) year, Yin Fire over the Earth Goat, running from Ipchun (around 4 February 2027) to Ipchun 2028 in Saju.
| 2027 factor | For Gye-Mi |
|---|---|
| Year stem 丁 Jeong | Indirect Wealth + clash 丁癸 |
| Year branch 未 Mi (main qi 己) | Seven Killings |
| Gye at Mi | Tomb stage |
| Day branch 未 vs 未 | Same branch (伏吟) |
For Gye day masters Jeong (丁) is Indirect Wealth and clashes with Gye (丁癸沖), while Mi’s main qi is Seven Killings. Tradition reads a dynamic year of money moving fast and workloads rising; diversify, avoid speculation and pace yourself.
Your day branch is the same as the year branch (伏吟, “repeating”). Tradition reads a year of reviewing your own patterns: renewal and self-reflection rather than a sudden external change.
Gye-Mi days in 2027: Jan 4, Mar 5, May 4, Jul 3, Sep 1, Oct 31, Dec 30. Some people like to schedule small personal milestones on their own pillar’s days, purely for fun.
Year readings are traditional entertainment. Make decisions about money, health or relationships on facts and professional advice.
Traditional labels and concept notes
- Storage (“flower-canopy”) branch — Jin, Sul, Chuk and Mi close each season and store its energy. Tradition links them with Hwagae (華蓋): reflection, study, art and spiritual interests.
- Nayin: Willow Wood (楊柳木), the “sound element” shared with Im-O (壬午).
- Empty branches (gongmang, 空亡): Sin and Yu (申酉), because Gye-Mi belongs to the decade that starts with 甲戌.
- Same pillar as the years 1943, 2003, 2063 (for the year pillar, not the day).
Labels such as Goegang or Baekho come from classical star lists that vary between schools. They are historical vocabulary, not predictions.

How to find your day pillar
- Open the free Korean Saju calculator and enter your birth date, time and city.
- Read the day column of your chart: the top character is your day master, the bottom one your spouse palace.
- Check births near midnight: schools differ on whether 11 pm–midnight belongs to the same day or the next.
- Unlike the year and month, the day pillar ignores solar terms: it is a continuous 60-day count, so Gye-Mi returns every 60 days.
