16 Personality Types Test — 120 Questions

Answer honestly, thinking of how you usually are. Takes about 12–15 minutes; answers stay on this device only. An independent MBTI-style test, not the official MBTI®.

How to take the test

For each statement, choose how well it describes you on a five-point scale from Disagree ← → Agree. There are no right answers — pick what you actually do, not what you think you should do. There are 10 statements per page across 12 pages, and you can leave and pick up where you left off.

How this 16-type test works

The test measures four preference pairs — Extraversion (E) vs Introversion (I), Sensing (S) vs Intuition (N), Thinking (T) vs Feeling (F) and Judging (J) vs Perceiving (P) — with 30 statements each, 120 in total. Half of each pair’s statements are worded toward one side and half toward the other, which reduces the bias of always agreeing.

Scoring

Each answer scores from −2 (strongly disagree) to +2 (strongly agree), flipped for statements worded toward the opposite side, and the 30 scores for each pair are added up. The total is shown as a percentage toward one side; the side above 50% gives that letter of your four-letter type. Results within about 8 points of 50% are marked as balanced, since they can easily flip depending on your mood or situation.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official MBTI test?
No. MBTI® is a registered trademark of The Myers-Briggs Company. This is an independent MBTI-style questionnaire written for this site, based on the same Jungian idea of four preference pairs, so your result may differ from the official instrument.
How are the percentages calculated?
Each of the four preference pairs has 30 statements, half worded in each direction. Your answers are summed for each pair and shown as a percentage leaning toward one side; 50% means you use both sides about equally.
How long does the test take?
About 12–15 minutes for 120 statements, shown 10 per page across 12 pages. Your answers are saved on your device, so you can stop and continue later.
